The type of baby shower invitations you choose will set the tone for your party. It will display the theme and style of your celebration.

Depending on the size of your shower, inviting guests by telephone or email maybe acceptable. However it is still preferable to send written invitations 3 to 4 weeks in advance (6 to 8 weeks for out of town guests).

Ensure your invitations include the time, date and location of the party, and don’t forget to set a date to RSVP by with your telephone number and address.

Baby Shower Invitation Suggestions

	Include a map with written directions to the location of the shower.
	Include a list of stores where your mom-to-be has registered.
	A long with your phone number and address, include your email. address (and don’t forget to check your inbox regularly).
	Let your guests know if the shower will provide a meal or appetizers only.
	If your shower is going to be a surprise, make sure you include a note to let your guests know.

"Bare" Necessities

When addressing your invitations, ask each guest to bring a “bare” necessity for baby. These gifts can include diapers, baby wipes, bath toys, hooded bath towels, and washcloths. Anything to do with a “bare” baby is fine. Clothing can include diaper shirts, socks, and onesies. You can also purchase a “teddy” for the new mom to wear after baby’s arrival.

Purchase tiny bears (found at most craft stores) and affix them to your home-made or store bought invitations.
